The many-eared boy falls in love

The boy with many ears fell in love
With the girl with many eyes,
But when he confronted her with the truth, she said:
"Sorry, but I don't see you the way you see me"
That was very clear, but he tried, nonetheless:
"But, but..."
"I already told you, can't you hear me?"
This too was clear, but that wasn't the point.
You see, there was something she didn't know,
And she only knew what she saw.

And now, each and every one of them was broken.
